Rules and Online Applications
1.The talent show is open to all ages 6 and above. There will be three age divisions and contestants will compete only with those in the same age division. Divisions will be: Junior 6-12 years of age, Teen 13-18 years of age, and Adult 19 and above.
2. The talent show is open to both individuals and groups. A person may appear in only one act.
3. Auditions will be held on Saturday, April 14th at the Club Calumet in Sturgeon Falls. Contestants will be auditioned as applications are received on a first come, first served basis in each division. You will be called with a specific time.
4. From the auditions, 30 total finalists (10 in each division) will be selected to compete on the evening of Saturday, May 5th 2007 at the Sturgeon Falls Recreation Complex.
5. Those selected must have two selections prepared for the Talent Show, but only those in the finals (top 5 in each division) will be asked to perform their second selection.
6. Each contestant will be allowed no more than five minutes on stage. Ten percent of the contestant’s points will be deducted for each minute or part of a minute the contestants run over five minutes in length.
7. Acts using music will be allowed with only one song or tune, up to a maximum of five minutes total - rule 6 applies.
8. A CD player and a sound system will be provided. All recorded material to be used must be on CD. No other equipment will be provided.
9. Contestants must perform the same act in the finals (top 5 in each division) as is performed in the audition (i.e.) must be same song or dance act). Contestants must wear the same costume in the finals as worn in audition.
10. Each of the selected contestants to appear during the Talent show evening MUST report to the Stage area one hour prior to the start of the talent show. Make sure you check in with the person in charge backstage.
A. The contestants will be judged by a three judge panel selected by the Huntington Society Nipissing Chapter. Judges’ decisions will be final.
B. Prize money will be paid when winners are announced on stage.
C. Talent will be judged on the following criteria:
Poise (confidence, cover mistakes well, etc.) 10 points
Physical Appearance (neatness, costuming) 10 points
Stage Presence (audience appeal, smile) 10 points
Overall Impression 20 points
Talent (music, ability, coordination, etc.) 50 points

Please be on time for your audition as there will be many participants. Be ready with all of your equipment (CD, etc.) when you are called for your audition. From the auditions, 30 total finalists (10 in each division) will be selected to compete during the evening of Saturday, May 5th. Please read all rules attached to this application.
